Are you an artist? Are you good with more mundane forms of paperwork, such as grant applications? Do you love Blue Lake? Are you part of Blue Lake?

If you answered "yes," to most of the above questions, then has Dell'Arte got an opportunity for you! Check it:

Blue Lake Rising Grant Program

Dell’Arte International is the recipient of a grant from ArtPlace America to use the arts to strengthen business and the economy in Blue Lake. An important aspect of that goal is to identify and engage artists, artisans and creative individuals and organizations in the Blue Lake community. To that end, Dell’Arte is accepting proposals for Blue Lake Rising Grants that will use the arts in projects that will enrich the community.

Ten (10) art-based grants will be awarded in the amount of $500 each to enable applicants to create a work or develop a project of their choosing. Successful proposals will show creative vision will address or reflect some specific aspect of life in Blue Lake. Additional sponsors are being sought in the hopes that the Blue Lake Rising grant program can be continued on an annual basis.

Projects could include public art, such as murals or banners, live events including performances, lectures or demonstrations and creative civic improvement or recreation projects like garbage receptacle make-overs, benches, or river stewardship. All projects should include an arts component or show creative thinking about aspects of our everyday lives in Blue Lake.

Applications and guidelines will be available on November 5th.

Proposals will be due on January 8, 2014

Winners will be announced on January 25, 2014

All projects must be completed by July 31, 2014

Winning proposals will be selected by an independent panel of community volunteers.
Proposals can be submitted by individuals or organizations who have a vested interest in Blue Lake, including students. Applicants under the age of 18 must include the signature of an adult sponsor. Proposals from Blue Lake residents will be given priority consideration.
