Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Meetings

Humboldt Rose Society

When: Thu., May 9, 7 p.m. 2013

On Thursday evening, May 9, 7:00, the Humboldt Rose Society's program will provide information about the procedures for people thinking of entering some beautiful blooms or arrangements into the 47th Annual Rose Show, "The Music of Roses," June 9, Redwood Acres, 1-5 p.m. One of the show co-chairs will review the show schedule; the group president will describe how to prepare roses for the show; one of the group's rosarians will review the entry form; and the arrangement chair will review the categories, with the emphasis on a number of well-known Beatles' songs. This is an opportunity, whether someone plans to provide an entry into the show or not, to learn what goes into providing and participating in one of the many flower shows occurring at this time of year.

HRS's monthly meetings are held at Christ Church Episcopal, 15 and H Streets, Eureka, in the Parish Hall. Refreshments are provided, as well as a silent auction. A brief business meeting will include reminders about the the Plant Sale the following Saturday, May 11, at 2196 Hemlock St., Eureka, 9-5, with a special 10-2 time for youngsters and others to create bouquets or arrangements for Mother's Day on the 12th. Questions about the meeting or the Plant Sale: 443-1284
