The Humboldt State University Symphony will be performing at the Fulkerson Recital Hall at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013. The afternoon's performances will feature the Tchaikovsky favorite, "The Nutcracker Suite," Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture,
four movements of Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances
a portion of Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring.
The entire day's performance is directed by Paul Cummings and will include two Humboldt State faculty members, Cindy Moyer on the violin and Karen Davy on the viola. Tickets for this event are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and children and free to HSU students with ID.
A second concert will be held at Fulkerson Recital Hall later in the evening, at 8 p.m. The Humboldt State University Singers will present all seven movements of Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols
two movements from Randall Thompson’s The Testament of Freedom.
In addition, the community choir Humboldt Chorale will perform Imant Raminsh's Magnficat
, under the direction of Carol Ryder. The Chorale performance will include solo performances by Fiona Ryder and James Gadd. Tickets for this show are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and children and free to HSU students with ID. Tickets for both shows can be purchased at the door, or at the Humboldt State University ticket office.
