The Eureka Theater was packed like a wartime visa office for the screening of Casablanca on Friday night. The upper and lower lobbies were transformed into Rick's Café Americain, the gin joint run by Bogie in the film, and more than a few patrons took the opportunity to work their 1940s vintage best. 

Upstairs, the second floor lobby with its newly silver-leafed ceiling, was decked out with a roulette table and a Champagne bar, where, as in the decidedly anti-Hitler 1942 film, patrons sipped and socialized under the watch of jack-booted Nazis. Yup. They went there. In fact, intermission was marked by the same black shirted thugs storming the theater with searchlights and dragging off the tuxedoed Joel Canzoneri, who made a run for it like the doomed Peter Lorre.
