A flying saucer festooned with rhododendrons for the parade.
It was a busy weekend in Eureka. Folks were out early Saturday, staking out curbside seating to watch as the annual Rhododendron Parade wound its way through town. Once the bands, VW bugs and flower-powered kinetic sculptures finished the route, it was time to hustle down to Old Town for the inaugural Salt & Fog Fish Fest. The tall ships were docked in the bay, speeder cars zipped up and down the street and Madaket Plaza was packed with food stalls, vendors and bands. Photographers Sam Leishman and Zach Lathouris were on hand snapping shots of the festivities. See the slideshow below for highlights of the day.
