Blue Lake's Perigot Park was awash in tartan and the music of bagpipes on Sunday during the Highland Games. Competitors brought the hammer down — or rather up — throwing 12-pound hammers and cabers (basically logs, folks) for distance. Attendees got down to Celtic rock from Tempest and got sentimental to pipes and drums from the Humboldt Highlanders Pipe Band and the Jefferson Pipe Band.
