After closing briefly because a staff member had contact with a person with COVID-19, Wildflower Cafe & Bakery will open its doors today. Co-owner Sue Charnes told the Journal
in an email, the entire crew has tested negative. "None of our staff ever tested positive … there was just possible exposure from a few avenues and we felt it best to not take the risk," she wrote.
Over on the Arcata Plaza, another restaurant is less lucky. The restaurant announced Saturday evening on its Facebook page that an employee had tested positive for COVID-19 and would be shutting down immediately. The post reads, "We are moving forward with extreme safety and caution. We will be having all our employees tested and performing a deep clean of our entire restaurant." It also notes it won't be serving its sold-out Thanksgiving to-go boxes.
