Good news for the Discovery Museum: It's found a new, albeit temporary, home in the Jefferson School community center. As you may have read in this week's Journal, the museum (and 10 other tenants in the Carson Block) have to pull up stakes so the building can undergo a multi-million-dollar seismic retrofit. Meanwhile, the Westside Community Improvement Association is hard at work revitalizing the former Jefferson School on B Street. The museum continues to look for permanent housing, but hey — it seems like a good fit.

Discovery Museum Supporters,

Many of you have read or seen the news that the Discovery Museum is relocating at the end of November with the intent to reopen Spring 2015. I want to assure you that the Museum is actively looking for a new, permanent location In Eureka which we hope to announce soon. In the meantime, we are going to temporarily run limited programming at the Jefferson Center located at 1000 B Street in Eureka. Admission to this site and programs at the Jefferson Center will be free.
Starting December 1 our program schedule will be:

•  New Operating Hours Tuesday-Saturday 1-5pm
•  Playgroup every Tuesday 10-11:30
•  Second Saturday Daddy and Me Playgroup 10-11:30
•  Third Saturday Young Inventors 10:30-Noon

We are also offering Discovery Museum Programming at our Pal Camp site during school holiday breaks December 29-January 2, February 16-20, and April 13-17 for a fee.
