UPDATED: Hoopa Man Held on Suspicion of Murdering Sister

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Angel Aubrey, 33. Aubrey is the sister of Antone Aubrey, who was arrested in connection with the murder.

Previously:

Officers from the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and Hoopa Tribal Police Department responded to a disturbance call yesterday afternoon behind the Hoopa Gas Station. According to a Humboldt County Sheriff's press release, officers found a woman who had been shot; she succumbed to her injuries on the scene. A suspect, Antone Aubrey, was arrested the same day and is being held on murder charges. See the full press release below.



From the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office:
On 02-17-18, at approximately 2:30 PM, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a disturbance behind the Hoopa Gas Station. Deputies, along with officers from the Hoopa Tribal Police Department, responded and located a female victim with a gunshot wound. The victim succumbed to her injuries on scene.

Through further investigation and with the community’s assistance, 30 year old Antone Aubrey was arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for PC 187- Murder. His bail has been set at $1,000,000.
