Planned EBT Card Outage This Weekend

The Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services is reaching out to let residents who use electronic benefit transfer cards, or EBTs, know they will not be able to use their accounts for a 24-hour period this weekend due to a statewide upgrade.

Holders will not be able to buy food or get cash with the cards from 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 to 11 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, and are advised to “plan ahead,” according to the release.

County residents who use electronic benefit transfer (EBT) cards are advised that due to a statewide system upgrade, cards will not be usable from Saturday, June 23 at 11 p.m. through Sunday, June 24 at 11 p.m.

During this 24-hour period, EBT card users will be unable to use their cards for food or cash. The state is recommending that EBT card holders plan ahead. For more information and to check food and cash balances, visit www.ebt.ca.gov.
