Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish an attic fire in an Old Arcata Road home last night, limiting damage to around $1,000, according to the Arcata Fire District. No one was injured.
The house had two sets of working smoke alarms but AFD recommends also having alarms in attics. The Blue Lake and Samoa fire departments provided mutual aid during the incident.
