The Eureka City Council will meet in special session Tuesday to consider accepting the resignation of recently hired City Manager Dean Lotter, who was placed on administrative leave earlier this month.

At 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, the council will meet to discuss a single agenda item: considering whether to accept Lotter's resignation and direct the mayor to execute a resignation agreement. The move comes just four months after Lotter moved from Minnesota to take the post after a national search found him to be the top candidate to fill the shoes of former City Manager Greg Sparks, who was retiring.

City Clerk Pam Powell is currently filling in as acting city manager.
