A store manager at the Kmart in McKinleyville has confirmed that the store is closing.

When the Journal emailed the company's public relations department to ask when and why the store was closing, Larry Costello, PR Director for Transformco declined to comment.

However, USA Today reported in February that Transformco had acquired Kmart and Sears out of bankruptcy in February 2019, and decided to close down 92 stores.
