The Salvation Army in Northern California is providing meals to those evacuating the wildfires in the region, including evacuees from the August Complex Fire and the Red Salmon Complex fire.

The Salvation Army of Eureka is currently providing 225 meals per day for evacuees at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds in Ferndale.

The Salvation Army Increases Response as Wildfires Continue to Spread in Northern California

Sacramento, CA— The Salvation Army in Northern California is now responding to four major wildfire incidents; the August Complex which is now the largest wildfire in California state history, the Red Salmon Complex, the deadly and destructive North Complex Fire, and the LNU Lightning Complex. The nonprofit has crews from all over the region responding not only in their local communities, but helping out their neighbors to make sure wildfire evacuees are fed. We are working with the state, counties, and other relief organizations like the American Red Cross to provide 1,420 meals every day to people in hotels and shelters. We expect that number to rise as wildfire and evacuations continue to grow.

August Complex & Red Salmon Complex Response:
The Salvation Army of Eureka is currently providing 225 meals per day to evacuees staying at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds in Ferndale.

North Complex Fire Response:
The Salvation Army of Oroville and Chico are providing a total of 650 meals per day to wildfire evacuees in Butte County. Of those meals, 450 are going to evacuees who have been placed at a hotel in Oroville and 200 are going to evacuees at the Butte County Fairgrounds in Gridley.

LNU Lightning Complex Response:
The Salvation Army of Napa is still providing meals to evacuees placed in four hotels in the city. Our Napa Valley Culinary Training Academy, which provides training for men and women who have overcome homelessness and/or addiction, is preparing 150 meals per day for those evacuees.

Evacuees Sent to Other Cities:
The state is working with disaster relief agencies and area hotels to relocate and house evacuees in other cities throughout Northern California. The Salvation Army is currently providing 195 meals per day to two hotels in Yuba City and 200 meals per day to three hotels in Roseville.
