It's that time of the year again to set our clock's one hour ahead for daylight saving time beginning Sunday at 2 a.m.

Although we'll lose an hour of sleep, we'll have one more hour of sunlight at the end of the day to enjoy the North Coast.

In 2018, California voters overwhelmingly supported Proposition 7 allowing state legislators to change daylight saving time, but that has yet to happen and would still need approval by the federal government.

However, last fall, North Coast Rep. Jared Huffman co-sponsored a bill that would make daylight saving time optional for states but it has yet to be approved by the Senate.

Until then, don't forget to set your clocks forward and get enough sleep Saturday night.
