The Eureka Chamber of Commerce announced the death of its president and CEO Donna Wright in a statement this afternoon.
"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Donna Wright, CEO and President of the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce," the statement reads. "Donna’s leadership at the Chamber for the past five years has been transformational for the community. Her passion for being a catalyst for business growth, a convenor of leaders and a champion for a stronger community has enriched us all." 
Wright became the executive director of the Eureka Chamber in November of 2017, the first woman to lead the organization since it was founded in 1891.
"A special thank you to the first responders of Eureka, whose assistance is greatly appreciated. Our deepest sympathies are with her family and all those who loved her," the release states.
