Humboldt County Public Health reported today that the county has confirmed another COVID-19 deaths since its last report June 15, a resident in their 60s.
Four new hospitalizations were also reported but, according to a
state database, 12 people are currently hospitalized with the virus locally, including two under intensive care. The death reported today is the 149th in Humboldt County since the pandemic began.
"An additional 289 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 were reported as well as 254 new probable cases for the period between Tuesday, June 14, and Tuesday, June 21," the release states.
Public Health also noted that the recently approved COVID-19 vaccine for children 6 and older is now available in Humboldt County.
"Parents and caregivers are encouraged to contact their child’s pediatrician or health care provider," the release states. "The vaccines are not being administered through Public Health vaccine clinics at this time, pharmacies are not authorized to vaccinate children ages 2 and under. Visit
