Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Zero Waste Coastal Cleanup Day 2019

When: Sat., Sept. 21, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. 2019

The NEC is celebrating its 40th anniversary of Coastal Cleanup Day and we’re going to be doing things a little differently. This year we are taking beach cleans back to the basics and reframing them to be the educational tools that they are meant to be. The global plastics issue is one that can no longer be ignored. We are all consumers on this planet which means we all have an important role to play. On September 21st the Northcoast Environmental Center is hosting Zero Waste Coastal Cleanup Day in Humboldt County. If you're interested in joining the global effort to curb marine debris, visit yournec.org/coastalcleanupday/forms-signups/ to participate. Any and all locations are available for cleanups, including beaches, rivers, streets, parks, trails or anywhere that needs some TLC. Visit www.yournec.org/coastalcleanupday/forms-signups/ to learn more about Zero Waste Coastal Cleanup Day and how to participate.
