Join us December 15 for a celebration of all things Albert Etter as we release our new cider, Albert's Experiment. We had the unbelievable opportunity to connect with the Hobbs Family in Ettersburg and make a cider using apples from Etter's original experimental orchard! This fully dry, unfiltered cider has tons of character, both in taste and history! Albert Etter, commonly referred to as "Humboldt's Luther Burbank," was a horticulturalist who became famous for his contributions to strawberry and apple breeding during the early 20th century. He grew up in the Victorian town of Ferndale, before establishing a homestead in Ettersburg. It was from this homestead that Etter developed many of the apple and strawberry varieties that are world-famous today. We will be hosting talks at Redwood Acres Fairgrounds beginning at 2:00PM that focus on orchard maintenance and the history of Albert Etter. Stop by for a cider and learn a thing or two about Humboldt's famous horticulturalist. Topics will include Albert's legacy, pruning, grafting and pollination.
