California Indian Day Activities

When: Wed., Sept. 25, 9:45 a.m. 2019

Loleta Elementary School in partnership with Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria, the Wiyot Tribe, St. Joseph Loleta Community Resource Center, CalFresh and several other school districts including Big Lagoon will be celebrating California Indian Day on Wednesday September 25, 2019 at Loleta Elementary School. Community members are welcome to cultural activities from 10:15 AM - 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM and a community lunch at 2:00 PM. The day will start at 9:45 AM with a welcome and prayer, which will include a brief history of Native people. At 10:15 AM, a dance demonstration will be held on the lawn, and then at 11:00 AM, attendees will be able to participate in stations and demonstrations on Sticks, jewelry, games, and language. Each station will include 30 minutes of activity, and a community lunch will be held at 2:00 PM.
