Linda Stansberry hinted at a food crawl for the best chile rellenos in Humboldt County at the end of her fritter piece ("Fritter Nation," Jan. 29). I would really like to encourage her in that endeavor. With the amount of Mexican restaurants in Humco, I'd like her opinion on what stands out as compared to just all right. I love rellenos enough to have gone on YouTube to watch the authentic preparation by Mexican grandmothers and have done some decent homemade, but I still have a hard time searing and peeling the dang poblanos. For the work involved, they are a bargain at most Mexican restaurants. Hope this food crawl gets put on the front burner.
