Each year, thousands of volunteers remove tons of trash and plastic waste from our beaches, rivers, bay and estuaries in what is known as Coastal Cleanup Day which has its humble beginning here in Humboldt, started by the Northcoast Environmental Center in 1979. This year’s goal is to have over 1000 volunteers!
