Barry Evan's consciousness "Field Notes" (Dec. 18) was yet another great column; keep them coming. His exploration into the Hard Problem and Easy Problem of consciousness was fresh and very well illustrated. I appreciate the recommendation of Michael Graziano's book and look forward to reading it. In my own journey in this realm I have found Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, to be very helpful in my understanding of the software that is operating between my ears. Maybe I am becoming a consciousness junkie, too. Is the brain that is curious about itself a model of consciousness? I think so, but that may be me just thinking so.
