Edith Hokman, an expert in emergency preparedness, will give a presetation, "Prepare Before Diaster for After Disaster," at a North Cost Mensa public forum at noon Saturday at the Samoa Cookhouse. The event is open to the public and lunch is no-host. Hokman is a member of the Humboldt County Sheriff's Posse, disaster service workers, and Community Emergency Response Team member. The event, open free to the public, helps inform people what they can do to up the odds so that they are not just a statistic at a community shelter,
