When: Wed., March 23, 8 p.m. 2016
Dry and Dusty is an oldtime/country sister duo from Spokane, Washington. The band is made up of Ruthie and Sally Jablonsky, who grew up playing music with their parents, hiking around in the desert singing cowboy songs, and learning the old tunes from their extended family at festivals and camps. As well as being firmly rooted in the Appalachian fiddle tradition, the sisters write new-old-pop-country-time songs that are crooked and lonesome and true. Since 2011, they have been playing as a band and giving workshops around the northwest. Join the members of the Sanctuary Choir for a harmony singing workshop hosted by the girls of Dry and Dusty from 4:00 - 5:30. Old time two and three part harmony singing will be explored, and attendees can expect to bring home a new take on some old tunes. Please bring a donation for the teachers.
Price: $5 to $20 sliding scale
