When: Mon., March 12, 6-8 p.m. 2018

Dr. Rafael Cuevas Uribe presents “Growing your own food through aquaponics.” Aquaponics is an innovative, sustainable food production system that integrates hydroponics (soilless plant culture system) with a recirculating aquaculture system. It utilizes nutrient-rich effluent from the fish tanks as a resource in the hydroponic grow beds where plants take up this nutrient. This talk will present basic aquaponics concepts to help you develop your own backyard system.
