Concertmaster Terrie Baune ably takes on the role of guest soloist with Mozart’s inspired and captivating Violin Concerto No. 5 in A Major, often referred to as “The Turkish.” The evening includes a delightful depiction of French children’s games in Georges Bizet’s Jeux d’enfant Op. 22 and ends with the always popular Rodeo by Aaron Copland, an ingenious, nostalgic and humorous musical interpretation of cowboy life in the early 20th century (Buckaroo Holiday, Corral Nocturne, Saturday Night Waltz and Hoe-Down).
