Queer Humboldt presents a film screening of Framing Agnes, followed by a panel discussion from local transgender community members. Framing Agnes has a cast of all trans actors, turning a talkshow format inside out to confront the legacy of a young trans woman forced to choose between honesty and healthcare access. The film was created through a partnership between a BIPOC trans feminine researcher, and a white trans masculine filmmaker. The film explores, through creative reenactment, a trove of research interviews of trans people at the UCLA gender clinic in the 1950s and 1960s. Join us in watching the film and then hearing from local trans community panelists. Tickets are available at the door and on the Minor website.
