California State Parks invites volunteers to Little River State Beach on February 8th from 9am to noon for a habitat restoration volunteer event in the beautiful coastal dune ecosystem. We will remove invasive, non-native plants such as: European Beachgrass, pampas/jubata grass and yellow bush lupin from our restoration plot. Please meet at the northern unpaved parking lot off HWY 101 Cranell Exit. Habitat Restoration is a moderate activity and participants are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes for walking off trail, a hat, work gloves, and water. We have extra gloves and tools for volunteers. Work locations are less than a ½ mile hike from the trailhead. All participants will receive one free day use pass to Patrick’s Point State Park. All ages welcome. For more information please contact Katrina Henderson, katrina.henderson@parks.ca.gov or (707) 677-3109.
