One of the great riches of living in this section of Humboldt is the incredible richness of the entertainment, even when you want to stay inside.

Redwood Curtain and North Coast Rep both give great performances. Redwood Curtain's latest offering, Becky's New Car, is hilarious ("Stage Matters," Sept. 12). There were times last night that the audience had trouble catching its breath before the next one-liner. The husband of the protagonist had some of the best lines ever. In addition Randy Wayne is a really good actor and well-matched by Peggy Metzger. They each did pathos and comedy fabulously (well, it was about a marriage). Not surprisingly, since he had a lot of the really good lines, I heard a lot of male laughter!
