Intertribal Elder Gathering

When: Sat., Nov. 9, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. 2013

This sacred meeting of the elders has been held for the last 32 years and gives spectators a rare view into the world of indigenous tribes. Open to the general public and a dinner option is available. The main features of the gathering are the salmon and turkey dinner, served from noon to 4 p.m. and a traditional give away ceremony to all Honored Elders in attendance, regardless of race. This year's event features demonstrations of traditional Tribal dances throughout the day from the Tolowa, Yurok, Karuk, Hupa and Pomo Tribes. Special performances by the Aztec dancers and a traditional Hoop Dancer will round out the event.
