Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Jane's Creek Restoration and Barbecue

When: Sat., April 11, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. 2015

The day will begin with a continental breakfast and an overview of Jane’s Creek restoration history. Volunteers will then assist with invasive plant removal, willow plantings, and creek clean-up. Once the hard work is complete, Doug Kelly of Humboldt Fish Action Council will fire up the grill and serve volunteers with their choice of burger. Most dietary preferences can be accommodated. Volunteers are asked to bring water and dress for a day outdoors. To get to the event at 1665 Foster Avenue from Highway 101, take the exit for Samoa Boulevard, West. Turn right onto K Street, and take a left onto Foster Avenue. The project site will be straight ahead, and marked with bright orange signs. Volunteers may park along Foster Ave., or take a right onto Foster Ave., and park in the public lot at the end of the street.
