Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Layers of the Coastal Forest

When: Sun., April 10, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. 2022

Join the Trinidad Coastal Land Trust and naturalist Gabe Goff for a stroll through the lush coastal forest of Elk Head in Trinidad. Coastal forests, like many forested ecosystems, are a layer cake of interactions; from the arrangement of trees, to the stratification of mosses and ferns. We will look at the structure of the forest, species identification, and branch communities. It’s all one big mosaic! This event is free, kid friendly, and open to all! The Elk Head Trail is about 1.5 miles long and mostly flat. We look forward to learning with you! Registration is free, but space is limited. Email [email protected] or call 707-677-2501 to sign up.
