As part of the Let's Talk About the Middle East film and discussion series, HSU History professor Dr. Leena Dallasheh hosts a screening of As I Open My Eyes (2015, Tunisia/France) Set in Tunisia in 2010, on the eve of the Jasmine Revolution, this film follows the 18-years-old Farah. Despite her parents plans, and government oppression, she joins a political band as a singer. A coming-of-age story that also brings the political ferment in Tunisia at the tail-end of a 30-year dictatorship.
