Life Under the Sand: The Story of the Dune Silver Bee

Did you know that many of our native bees spend the majority of the year underground? Or that most bees live solitary lives? Have you ever wondered about the sex life of bees? Join Friends of the Dunes Executive Director, Kim McFarland as she presents a lecture “Life Under the Sand: the Story of the Dune Silver Bee.” Kim will share what she discovered during her graduate research at HSU on the mating and nesting behavior of the Dune Silver Bee. Learn how this important, local, native pollinator makes a living in our coastal dunes. Tea and snacks provided.
