Miscounted

Editor:

The recent article about the Point in Time count of homeless in Humboldt County appears to show it has very inaccurate numbers ("No Homeless People in Southern Humboldt?" posted May 19). I appreciate Linda Stansberry delving into the count and the issues surrounding. There were fewer volunteers doing the count, the count was delayed a month, it was bad weather and there had been camping evictions.

As a volunteer with Humboldt Edge, the street paper for, by and about Humboldt's homeless population, we would love to hear from those who were counted, those who did not get counted and the volunteers who tried to do the count. Your stories are important to us and should be to the county and cities within the county. We invite you to write a letter to the editor or submit an article about your experiences. You can submit to humboldtedge@gmail.com, in the mail to Humboldt Edge, PO Box 162, Arcata, CA 95518, or drop off at Arcata Annex, catty corner from the Transit station at the end of Ninth Street, Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
