Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Morels After the Swan Lake Fire in Alaska

When: Wed., Jan. 20, 7-9 p.m. 2021

Kate Mohatt will share results of a citizen science effort to document morels and their associated plant communities following the Swan Lake Fire on the Kenai Peninsula. This project used observations uploaded via iNaturalist and compared their locations to a new existing vegetation map completed just two years prior to the massive burn that occurred in 2019. Kate Mohatt is an ecologist for Prince William Sound zone based in Girdwood Alaska and the founder and president of the Turnagain Arm Mycological Society. https://cccconfer.zoom.us/j/98763471285?
