EXIT Theatre reprises the stunning 2022 Redwood Curtain Theatre production of Natural Shocks by Lauren Gunderson featuring Ruthi Engelke in the lead role, directed by Todd Hoberecht with sound design by Tammy Rae Scott, joined by Jaiden Clark with light and scenic design. Angela is trapped in her basement, waiting out an approaching tornado, she reflects on a lifetime of trauma, illuminating the truth behind her endangerment. Based on Hamlet’s famous “To be or not to be” soliloquy, Natural Shocks is a damning condemnation of violence, abuse, and firearms in America.
