The North Group Sierra Club invites the public to a hike in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park's Ossagon Trail to Parkway Trail on Sunday, August 13. Carpools meet at 9 a.m. at the Ray's Valley West shopping center in Arcata or meet at 10:15 a.m. at the trailhead on Newton B. Drury Parkway (mileage marker 130.54.) Taking the Ossagon Trail to the beach, this moderate, six mile hike will allow time to explore around the impressive rocks before heading south to meet West Ridge Trail. Turning inland, there is a long ascent to the ridge, from which the brief Zig-Zig #2 Trail connects us back to the Parkway, where we will have shuttled vehicles for the return to Ossagon Trail.
