While I applaud the NCJ's policy of presenting a balanced Letters to the Editor section ("Another Trump Tirade," Jan. 31), it is always discouraging to read another instance of Orwellian thinking.
How can any intelligent person deny the reality of what they see and what they hear? We have the tape of Trump bragging about groping women. We have the video of Trump criticizing John McCain for "getting caught." We have the video of Trump saying that Mexico would pay for his wall. We have the video of Trump saying that he would be proud to shut down the government. We even have the tape of Trump saying, "Just stick with us, don't believe the crap you see from those people, the fake news ... What you're seeing and what you're reading is not what's happening." No one made these things up. They happened.
The main stream media that reported on all of these events is not making anything up. It is fact. It is an instance of reporters doing what they are supposed to do: report.
It is not the media's fault that Trump continues to lie and act like a playground bully. When he does these things, the media reports it. If he would only act like a rational adult once in a while, I'm sure the media would report that.
The whole Trump administration is a tragic joke. It's time to make America think again.
