Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Opening Reception for "MARE, Matisse and More"

When: Sun., Jan. 15, 1-4 p.m. 2017

The January-February exhibit at Westhaven Center for the Arts presents the work of students at Trinidad School. Titled “MARE, Matisse, and More” it combines the ground breaking paper cutout techniques of Henri Matisse with content from the Marine Activities, Resource and Education program. The school’s K-8th grade students created a series of 16,  3’ x 5’ vertical mural panels. These beautifully hand painted collages use marine themed abstract shapes, based on Matisse’s colors and shapes. Each grade focused on a different marine habitat and explored various mediums in addition to their collages.
