The first Saturday in October is the day families, artists and sponsors gather on the Arcata Plaza for a magical art show. The sidewalk is transformed into a gallery of art with a riot of color. This benefit for Northcoast Children's Services is supported by local businesses that sponsor an artist by making a donation of $125 or $225 for a square of sidewalk art. This event is free for artists and pastels are provided. Northcoast Children's Services provides education and family services to almost 1000 low income families with young children throughout Humboldt and DelNorte Counties.
