Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Poet of Place Jerry Martien

When: Sat., April 28, 7-8 p.m. 2018

If you are a poetry locavore, step along to hear Jerry Martien, whose poems tell stories of our home forests, Humboldt communities, skies and native waters. He'll bring copies of two recent books beautifully printed at Bug Press, 'Before the Flood' and 'Earth Tickets'. Jerry has lived here since 1970, supporting himself as a truck driver, night watchman, bookstore clerk, editor, doorman, and for thirty years a carpenter. He's been part of the Poets in the Schools program in local and back country classrooms, works to save our bioregion, and occasionally teaches in the creative writing department at HSU.
