Join Redwood Region Audubon Society for a birding trip to Red Cap Hole in the Trinity Alps Wilderness above Hoopa. The site features burned and unburned forest, meadows and a lake. Participants can expect to see a good variety of birds, butterflies, and flowers. Bring lunch, and a bathing suit if you wish to swim in Mill Creek Lake, and be prepared to walk for 4-5 miles. Meet leader Ken Burton on Valley West Boulevard near Village Pantry to carpool for the nearly 2-hour drive; high-clearance vehicles will be necessary.
