Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Rhody Meeting

When: Thu., Oct. 22, 7 p.m. 2015

The program for this meeting is a great opportunity to learn or review some of the basics of what nutrients are needed by most plants, how the things that plants need to survive are brought into them, and how they're transported within. A power-point presentation, "Plant Nutrition," by Bruce Palmer, long-time science teacher and administrator here locally and in Hawai'i, is the program for the Oct. 22 meeting of the Eureka Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society. With water-use becoming a challenge, it is essential to understand the "bigger picture" of all the elements our gardens need to thrive.....and the adaptations some plants make to try to insure survival when under stress.
