Volunteer docents are needed to help inform beach-goers about beach ecology and inspire stewardship of our coast. There is an emphasis on protecting the nesting habitat of the Western Snowy Plover, a threatened shorebird that nests on local beaches from March to September. A full training will take place on this day. We will be beginning at the US Fish & Wildlife Service Office. Please bring a lunch and dress for a field trip to Clam Beach County Park. For more information or to R.S.V.P., please contact Friends of the Dunes.
