Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

General & Multi Activities

Sheep shearing

When: Sun., Aug. 25, 12:30-12:45 p.m. 2019

Watch a sheep be sheared of its fleece. A sheep rancher will describe the process as it happens. This is a great way to start a visit to the Humboldt County Fair on its final day of 2019. Children can see the process from start to finish. It only takes a few minutes! Go to the east side of Belotti Hall at 12:30. (After the sheep is sheared, spinners will spin the fleece into yarn and a weaver will weave the yarn into a wool shawl, all right inside Belotti Hall. Come by often and watch the progress!)

Price: Free with entry to Humb. Cty. Fair
