Local geology and geo-ecology is the focus of a free lecture series, presented via Zoom by BLM & Friends of the Lost Coast. The series kicks off Wednesday, March 22 from 6-7pm with Bob McPherson, of the Cal Poly Humboldt Geology Department, presenting Kinematics of the Mendocino Triple Junction. In this talk, he’ll explain how the movement of plates on the surface of the earth affects our lives and is responsible for the beautiful geomorphology of the King Range and rugged Lost Coast, plus a hypothesis on the candelabra trees of Whale Gulch.
