I highly enjoyed Barry Evans' column on Orion last week ("Orion, Hunter of the Winter Skies," Jan. 1). The recent reboot of the Cosmos series has me turning my eyes to the skies more often and they always find their way to Orion. The column reminded me that once I dreamed of being an astronaut. But distant planets seemed so far away that it was hard for a 6-year-old to hold out hope for what was then a retracting space program. To see a renewed interest in the stars and space exploration in our time makes the little girl inside me very happy indeed.
