Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Stationary Birding & Wildlife Viewing at Moonstone Beach

When: Fri., March 25, 5:30-7 p.m. 2022

Join Redwood Region Audubon Society field trip leaders Janelle Chojnaki and Andrew Orahoske and start your weekend off right at the beach for a stationary birding adventure that may also include migrating Gray Whales and sunset. Picnic blankets and camping chairs are encouraged, as are binoculars and spotting scopes. Little River empties into the ocean at this popular beach, which often brings several species of gull and shorebirds like whimbrel, godwits, sandpipers, and the occasional curlew. Oystercatchers, Surf Scoters and other seabirds should be present on the near shore environment. We'll be set up close to parking. Contact Janelle
